An Advice to the Turkish people
by Sheikh Mustafa Abul Yazid
In the name of Allah, peace and prayers are upon the Messenger of Allah. Allah’s peace and prayers are upon him and his family.
Assalam alikum w rahmatullah w barakatuhu (peace and mercy are upon you). We call upon Allah, the All-Exalted, to guide us and you to whatever pleases Him; to use us to serve His religion, and accept our deeds and yours and make them pure for His sake……
Then,
We, your brothers in Afghanistan, are sending you our sincere greetings and entrust to your charge some things:
As for the first hint:
treat your Muslim brothers and sisters with kindness. We consider the Muslims in Turkey our brothers and sisters, as the Muslim community is a unified one.
Allah the All-Exalted says, “Truly! This, your religion is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me“.
The Muslim community (the Muslim Ummah) is ours everywhere, in Turkey, in the Arab countries, in Pakistan and everywhere they are one. We should treat Muslims, all Muslims, with pleasantness and kindheartedness.
Allah- the All-Exalted- says, “The believers are but brethren”.
Accordingly, all the true believers are brethren of other true believers. As long as they adhere to Islam and to the true belief in Allah, and as long as they haven’t taken off the robe of Islam, they are our brothers and sisters, no matter what sins they commit. We should treat them with warm heartedness and have affection for them;
as Prophet Muhammad, peace and prayers are upon him, said, “The believers are like a solid structure. Its parts support each other”.
As he, peace and prayers are upon him, has advised us to be the servants of Allah and act like brethren among ourselves, not to envy each other, hate each other, or rage against each other.
We are the servants of Allah, we are brethren, and accordingly we should treat Muslims in such a way. Those who listen to the speeches of Sheikh Usamah and Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahery, may Allah keep them safe, will find that they address the Muslim community as a whole. They don’t differentiate between the Mujahedeen and other Muslims, as the Mujahedeen are a part of the Muslim community. We are a part of this community; we are not superior to them or have extra advantages. We are the sons and daughters of that community; we are the avant-garde of this community who are keen to keep the dignity of that community to be that of leadership and pioneering.
We advise you to treat all Muslims with kindheartedness and never to disdain them. We advise you to love each other for the sake of Allah, the All-Exalted.
As for the second hint:
Jihad needs a lot of money. The battlefields of Jihad need much money. Allah, the All-Exalted, has obliged us to carry out Jihad with money and soul. He has made Jihad with money to precede that with souls in most of the verses of Qur’an. It is in all verses except only one. He has done so because of the importance of Jihad with money. Jihad with money is the basis for that with souls. If there is no enough money for the Mujahed to buy his weapon, his food and drink, he will never be able to carry out Jihad. When some of the Sahaba (people who were contemporary with the Prophet) came to Prophet Muhammad, peace and prayers are upon him, and asked him to provide them with mounts to be able to carry out Jihad, the Prophet, peace and prayers are upon him, said, "I can find no mounts for you," they turned back, while their eyes overflowing with tears of grief that they could not find anything to spend (for Jihad).
They failed to carry out Jihad because they didn’t have the money that could help them with Jihad. That is why Allah, the All-Exalted, in Qur’an is bidding and giving orders to us to spend in His Cause, i.e., on Jihad. There are many verses, but the occasion now doesn’t allow them. However, you can revise those verses, as there are many urges to spend in the Cause of Allah, until Allah –the All-Exalted- made the money we spend in His Cause multiply by 700.
Allah says, “The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain; it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knower”.
Thus, there are many verses bidding us to spend in the Cause of Allah, and as Jihad with souls is a religious duty, Jihad with money is as well. We, here in the battlefield of Afghanistan, are in strong lack of money. The weakness of the operations here is due to the lack of money. Many Mujahedeen cannot carry out Jihad because they lack the money by which they can do. It is even many of the expected martyrs are waiting because we can’t equip them because of the lack of money. Please fear Allah, and adhere to Jihad with money; please perform such a religious obligation. We also bid you to keep invoking Allah for your brothers in Afghanistan and everywhere. Such invocations are more important than anything else, even money. Therefore, we're bidding you to invoke Allah always. We’re bringing good news to you, the great victories that have taken place recently against the Americans and their allies in Afghanistan have put them to suffer extremely. Many of them have been killed with Allah’s favor. Many of their armored cruisers have been destroyed, and many of their military airplanes have been shot down. Thanks are to Allah. Even Bush himself has admitted that the last month was the hardest ever for them. Thanks are to Allah. We also bring you good news that some of your brothers have reached martyrdom, which is a great position. Most of them were Turkish, and this is honorable for Turkey. May Allah accept them among other martyrs and house them in Firdaws, the loftiest place in paradise, and guide you and us to whatever pleases Him.
