"Ansar al-Islam Group / Clarification Regarding the Recent Arrests of Muslims in Kurdistan 6-22 In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful Praise be to Allah, Lord of the two worlds. Peace and prayer be upon his trusted messenger Muhammad, his family, and all his companions. And thereafter: The Almighty said: (الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّا أَنْ يَقُولُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ وَلَوْلا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ لَهُدِّمَتْ صَوَامِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَصَلَوَاتٌ وَمَسَاجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اسْمُ اللَّهِ كَثِيراً وَلَيَنْصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَنْصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ) (الحج:40) (Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly only because they said: "Our Lord is Allah." For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much would surely have been pulled down. Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.) (Al-Haj: 40) The cities of Kurdistan and al-Sulaimaniya city in particular experienced in the recent period an extensive indiscriminate campaign of arrests that included a lot of Muslims there and went as far as capturing women and children. The matter did not stop at this point. Instead, Asayesh forces and the so-called “counterterrorism forces” persecuted Islamic preachers, arrested them, and leveled charges against them, slandered them in the media, in addition to insulting their families, in an unprecedented and dangerous development. These campaigns at this time and with this abuse and brutality raised many questions among our people in Kurdistan, which we enumerate in order to know the major causes that led to that: 1- Jalal and Massoud parties are used, as usual, to divert attention from their internal party crises through fabricating political and social crises outside the party framework and directing the media to them in a way to mislead and deceive people. The Jalal party had entered the period of decrepitude, disintegration, division, and loss of popular support, even as it continues to hold on to the security services with an iron hand. For that reason, before the general convention of their party, it resorted to diverting the media's attention away from the party's internal problems through fabricating a crisis by arresting Muslims and preachers. In another respect, media criticisms directed at the policy of the Jalal party, which continue to be a factor of concern and confusion for the Jalal followers, namely by the media opposed to him, that of those who broke away from them represented by the Change Movement have exposed the false claims of Jalal party and demonstrated the failure of this party, in an attempt to cover up this failure with violence and oppression. As for the party of Massoud who reached the height of the family of oppression, monopoly of power, and oppression of those who disagree with them, the likely expectation is that they will resort to drag the crisis of tyranny suffered by Muslims in Erbil to weave a story similar to that fabricated against the group of the former sheikh of Zana to pin the crime of the murder of journalist Sardasht Othman in Erbil ( reports of whose death spread that Masrur Barzani killed him with his own hands) on the clothes of the Islamic groups.... The garb of the Islamic groups has nothing to do with the blood of the journalist Sardasht Othman. The Massoud party will go to this village to alleviate the pressure by massive popular demonstrations hostile to them. 2- The purpose behind Jalal's party frightening Muslims before their general convention takes place had the form of an open message to whoever thinks of disturbing the security environment of the followers of Nushirwan who broke up with them so that the Change Movement that ceded from them does not pull the rug of legitimacy from under the feet of those holding the convention through media escalation and demonstrations. Thus, Islamists became the victim of impetuous Jalal policies. As to the Jalal followers not targeting those of Nushirwan directly, that is due to the fact that the Jalalis hope to win over the concerned and hesitant group of people in the ranks of Change Movement, aspiring of course that they join the convention and return to the ranks of the mother party. 3- The campaigns of revenge against Muslims in al-Sulaimaniya and Erbil have historical roots and are inevitable intellectual (ideological) secretions by Marxist Jalalis against Islam. Their effects on Muslims in the area emerge anytime the Jalal party finds a good opportunity for revenge. The other face of those abusive campaigns undertaken by the repressive services of the Jalal and Massoud parties against Muslims whose political awareness grows day after day and increases continuously, and who persist in their practices that they believe in no system that is hostile to Islam is a major cause for the continuous stirring up of the historical conflict between the oppressed Muslims in Kurdistan and the apostate secular and Marxist oppressive governments. An example for the extensive increase in awareness among Muslims is their adoption of the legitimate boycott of the elections that were held in Kurdistan previously. 4- Kurdish secularism tries to maintain security in areas that is under its influence in order to convince and attract foreign investment companies. In another respect, Kurdish secularism tries to pressure America to decide to have permanent bases in northern Iraq with the excuse of protecting American interests and Western investment companies. And since the current of Islamic awareness and Jihad represents a factor to counter this plan, the Jalal and Massoud foces then resort to conducting preemptive strikes to obliterate any intent for a real movement against foreign presence. Worthy of attention is the fact that anytime a repressive campaign is conducted by Kurdish secularism, it is accompanied by a fierce media campaign that aims to further isolate the Kurdish community from its Islamic values to satisfy the Americans and westerners and in order to reassure them that they will have peace and security in Kurdistan. Launch of liquor-making (beer) factories in the north is best evidence of that and the beginning of the making of an immoral society whose cadres resemble those of Western societies. On that basis, we, the Ansar al-Islam Group, decide the following: The Almighty said: (وَلَمَنِ انْتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِ فَأُولَئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ سَبِيلٍ) (الشورى:41) (And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them.) (As-Shoura: 41) Given the history of Ansar al-Islam Group in managing the conflict north of Iraq, and considering that it is an umbrella for Muslims and a pioneer in application of Shari'ah and the fighting vanguard in the area to deter the enemies of Allah, it issues in this respect the following warnings to the Kurdish secularism that oppresses Muslims, and especially to the leaders of the Jalal party and Asayesh and the so-called counterterrorism forces: 1-It is necessary to release all prisoners captured in the recent campaign, especially women and children, and to free them without conditions. 2-To stop all the unjust campaigns and the media defamation of Muslims and independent preachers, some of whom are known for their good reputation. Defaming and persecuting them is an absolutely unacceptable matter to us.... In conclusion, we ask Allah the Great and Almighty to empower us to expel the occupation away from Muslims in general, and from Kurdistan in particular, to eliminate the Taghout of the Jalalis and the Taghout of the Barzanis, and to make it possible for us to establish his Shari'ah throughout Kurdistan and all the territories of Islam. He is the Master of that, and the One capable of it. Allah’s peace and prayers be upon our Prophet Muhammad, upon his family and his companions.
